Gilgamesh's epic quest, some three and half thousand years ago, was for eternal life. In a sense, he succeeded - no other book in the world has achieved the longevity of the Gilgamesh Epic and the tale lives on to this day.

​Gilgamesh Publishing is growing at a steady pace and welcomes unsolicited manuscripts and book proposals, although we cannot promise to respond personally to each and every request. The core genres where we are seeking to expand the list are photography, reference, local interest travel and history, and current affairs. The heartland of the Gilgamesh Epic - the ancient city of Ur in modern Mesopotamia - is the geographical compass for the early titles in the publishing programme, but since then coverage has spread broadly, ever focused on cross cultural studies and travel.

Material is best sent by email to [email protected] where it will be filtered before being submitted to the editorial board.

To enable a clear assessment of the proposal we request:

• A cover letter providing an overview of your book
• A clear outline of the target reader and any specialist marketing or sales activity that might be required to make this a success.
• A comprehensive table of contents. Please be sure that this is as detailed as possible with estimated word counts where possible. 
• Some sample material - one or two representative chapters to provide a clear sense of the content and writing style. If the book is illustrated, representative illustrations or photographs are essential.
• A list of related or competing titles. Please provide a brief description of each competing title giving its strengths and weaknesses, and telling us how it compares to your proposed work.
