Good books are to be treasured. Gilgamesh Publishing stands for creating such treasures: the highest standards of book design and production combined with content that is at once authoritative and highly readable.
London-based, but with a clear eye on publishing and distributing for a global readership, the Gilgamesh list ranges broadly from large format photographic celebrations of place and people through to general non-fiction works related to history and culture. Building on historical strengths developing titles that explore the heritage of the Middle East and Africa, we have extended the breadth of titles to welcome books related to travel and cross-cultural studies internationally. Max Scott, founder and director of Gilgamesh Publishing, studied Arabic and Middle East Studies at Edinburgh University and went on to work at US publishing houses McGraw-Hill and Prentice Hall, encompassing parts of US Macmillan and a range of academic and professional publishers. From there he moved into independent publishing to run Stacey International publishers, building a list of books related largely to the Arab World. Max launched Gilgamesh Publishing in March 2011, expanding rapidly and managing a small team who look after the core editorial, design, sales and publicity roles.
