     His memoir, rich in revelations and anecdotes, gives us a rare insight into the thinking of some of the most famous figures of the 20th century, including the leaders of the existentialist movement in France. Dr Aly El-Samman is President of the International Union for Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue and Peace Education (ADIC) for Europe and Egypt as well secretary general of the Association for Economic Information “Europe-Egypt”. He also contributes weekly articles to the Egyptian press and regularly appears on television as a commentator on current affairs. Dr Aly El-Samman was awarded the French Légion d’Honneur in September 2012.
