Gilgamesh Publishing is growing fast and welcomes unsolicited manuscripts
and book proposals, although we cannot promise to respond personally to
each and every request. The core genres where we are seeking to expand the
list are photography, reference, local interest travel and history, and
current affairs, with a particular interest in material related to the
Middle East region.
Material is best sent by email to info@gilgamesh-publishing.co.uk where it
will be filtered before being submitted to the editorial board.
To enable a clear assessment of the proposal we require:
- A cover letter providing an overview of your book
- A clear outline of the target reader and any specialist marketing or
sales activity that might be required to make this a success.
- A comprehensive table of contents. Please be sure that this is as
detailed as possible with an estimated word count for each chapter and
for the book as a whole. If the book is illustrated, give an approximate
number of illustrations for each chapter and describe what the
illustrations are, who will source or produce them, and how they will be
delivered to us.
- Some sample material - one or two representative chapters to provide a
clear sense of the content and writing style. If the book is illustrated,
representative illustrations or photographs are essential.
- An annotated list of related or competing titles by other authors,
mentioning who the publisher was and whether the books are still in print
or not. Please provide a brief description of each competing title giving
its strengths and weaknesses, and telling us how it compares to your
proposed work.
